Unusual Coffee Tables by Yvette Cox

The Florence Coffee Table is designed by Yvette Cox. This piece of modern living room furniture features strips of steam-bent wood which basically create a draped ribbon effect. The designer specializes in the technique of steam bending and is actually drawn to it due to the unpredictable pieces and outcomes which come out of the projects. The technique of steam bending requires a lot of expertise, and this enables the designer to let the creativity flow through while building furniture. The majority of her pieces are made using local sources, and Yvette’s work is in part designed with the care of the Mother Nature in mind.

Round Glass Table by Savet

For those of you who are on the lookout for a minimalist yet stylish glass round table (which even has a touch of a uniqueness too), the Lambda Table is the perfect choice. Even though at first it does not seem to be anything more then a simple white base featuring a round see-through surface, there’s actually a lot more to it than it seems at first sight. A project of Gianluigi Landoni for Savet, the Lambda Table was designed with the dynamism of a moving element in mind. This piece of modern designer furniture, much like a gymnast’s ribbon routine, has subtle and eye-catching shapes which undulate beneath the se-though top. Made out of ‘green’ Cristalplant material, the Lambda Table beautifully complements the lightness of the glass above in style and design.

Cool Coffee Tables by Bellato

The Rotor collection of stylish coffee tables is designed by Luciano Bertoncini for Bellato. It’s a quite unusual collection of tables which look minimalist and maximalist at the same time. Split into 5 levels, the Rotor can be used as extended into several different compositions by pulling out the 3 central rotating tops, or a simple cube form at 63 centimeter squared. It can be found in many different lacquered finishes. The super-cool oranges and bright reds are very attractive. The Rotor’s minimalist design makes it a perfect addition to basically any home.

Modern Low Coffee Table by Jason Phillips

A really cool low traditional-style Japanese dining table will spice up any home. And the Jason Phillips’s Platform Table is one such table. It’s composed from 5 slabs of glossy lacquered wood, placed on top of each other in order to create a subtle visual delight with the variation in panel heights. With 3 of the base blocks resting directly on the ground, the Platform stands only 14’’ high. Instead of settling in a chair next to this surface, you will definitely feel so much more comfortable sitting on the floor or on a quite low chair.
